monocabin lounge
Piacenza, Italy – 2025
Mandalaki studio introduces Monocabin Lounge: a modular architectural concept for unique, purpose-built spaces. This new addition to the collection expands the possibilities of modular prefab design with a compact, customizable space concept tailored for diverse, purpose-built environments. Rooted in Mandalaki’s minimalist philosophy, the Monocabin Lounge balances sustainability, comfort, and elegant simplicity—inviting reinterpretation across contexts.
At its core, the Monocabin Lounge is a blank canvas. Compact and serene, it can be transformed into anything from a personal retreat or remote office to a micro-hospitality suite, pop-up showroom, wellness cabin, or cultural installation. The design encourages reinterpretation, offering the freedom to shape the space according to purpose.
Each Monocabin Lounge structure is defined by clean lines, natural materials, and a calming neutral palette. Its modular system allows seamless adaptation to specific needs, empowering clients to create unique, functional spaces wherever they're needed.
First Application: A Tesla Lounge at the Piacenza Supercharger Station
The first realized application of the Monocabin Lounge concept has been done in collaboration with Tesla at the Supercharger station in Piacenza, Italy. Located at 6 Via Federico Coppalati, this site is the first in Europe to feature a dedicated lounge area as part of the EV charging experience.
The Piacenza Supercharger includes 12 V4 charging stalls, each delivering up to 250 kW, with infrastructure in place to expand to 32. Complementing the high-performance charging capabilities are solar canopy structures and restroom facilities. Thanks to Mandalaki’s Monocabin Lounge, the site now also offers an elevated environment for rest, work, and quiet retreat while drivers recharge.
Inside, visitors discover distinct zones designed to meet various needs: a workspace with desks and power outlets; a tranquil relaxation corner featuring a wooden bench illuminated by ambient lighting from Mandalaki’s Halo Sky collection; and a refreshment area with vending machines. Open 24/7, the lounge demonstrates how thoughtful modular design can enrich the EV charging experience—while offering far broader possibilities beyond it.
